Procurement of Service: Development and Publishing of Four Case Studies of Energy+ Supported Businesses in GBC

1.     Background

Accelerate Prosperity (AP) is a joint initiative of the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) and Industrial Promotion Services (IPS) of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED) in Central and South Asia. It aspires to work towards a society that is powered by innovative and successful young entrepreneurs. Through its services, AP extends tailored training, advice, and technical assistance to aspiring and existing entrepreneurs to help them launch or expand their innovative business ventures. It also extends tailored financing to startups and small growing businesses (SGBs) to help them unlock external investments by improving their bankability and investment readiness.

2.     Program Context

AP’s approach combines financial and non-financial support, recognizing that standalone business development services and traditional bank financing are inadequate to catalyze early-stage and growth stage businesses, and deliver job creation in fragile and emerging markets, particularly for marginalized groups in rural areas.

The case studies are funded by the European Union under Energy Plus, a programme that seeks to promote renewable energy solutions, enhance natural resources management, and support rural communities to build climate resilience. The case studies particularly aim to strengthen project’s impact visibility regarding support provided to early-stage and growth-stage businesses in Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral (GBC) under the Energy+ initiative, showcasing the ripple effect we create in the ecosystem through our support.

3. Purpose of Assignment

Accelerate Prosperity wants to engage a professional firm to develop and publish four (4) case studies of successful entrepreneurs supported under Energy+, covering the sectors and tentative shoot locations listed in the RFP.

Each case study will be produced in two complementary formats:

(i) a professionally produced documentary video with accompanying social media highlight reels, and

(ii) a written narrative suitable for publication.

The case studies will serve as advocacy, learning, visibility, and communication products for the project, its partners, and wider audiences. The business case studies should feature the entrepreneur, the problem, the turning point, and business and community results as proof.

Each case study will tell the entrepreneur’s story, show the business in operation and its impact on customers and the local community, and present key business results in a clear, visual way.

4. Request for Proposal:

Accelerate Prosperity Pakistan (AP-AKRSP) invites sealed proposals from interested and eligible suppliers for the procurement.
