Job Title:                         Social Innovation and Learning Officer

Partner organisations, Donors, Private Sector Partners, Corporate Sector (CSR wings), INGOs, Chambers of Commerce, Microfinance Institutions, and other stakeholders.

Position Summary

The Social Innovation and Learning Officer is a hybrid role designed to bridge the gap between financial sustainability and institutional knowledge. You will lead the development of revenue-generating social enterprises while simultaneously fostering a culture of inclusion and professional growth through targeted capacity-building programs for consortium staff. 

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of the Program Officer are including:

A. Social Enterprise Development (50%)

  • Business Modeling: Identify, design, and launch viable social enterprise initiatives that align with the organization’s mission.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and feasibility studies to ensure the sustainability of new ventures.
  • Revenue Management: Develop business plans, financial projections, and go-to-market strategies for social products or services.
  • Partnership Building: Network with private sector actors, impact investors, and stakeholders to support enterprise growth.

B. Capacity Building & Learning (40%)

  • Inclusion Training: Design and deliver curriculum focused on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) for consortium staff and partners.
  • Skills Gap Analysis: Regularly assess the technical and "soft skill" needs of the team to design relevant workshops.
  • Knowledge Management: Create a "learning hub" (digital or physical) where staff can access resources, case studies, and best practices.
  • Workshop Facilitation: Lead interactive training sessions on entrepreneurship, inclusive leadership, and social impact measurement.

C. Monitoring, Evaluation, & Reporting (10%)

  • Track the financial performance of social enterprises and the "learning ROI" of staff training.
  • Report on impact metrics (e.g., number of staff trained, revenue generated, social goals met).

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

The Social Innovation and Learning Officer will be responsible for the following core workstreams:

1. Social Enterprise & Business Development

  • Develop detailed business plans for organizational social enterprise pilots, including comprehensive cost-benefit analyses and scalable operational frameworks.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and value chain assessments to ensure that all livelihood interventions are market-driven and specifically adapted for older people.
  • Create high-impact pitch decks and presentations to market FAID’s mission to the corporate sector, securing sponsorships or CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) grants.

2. Resource Mobilization & Proposal Management

  • Lead the drafting of 2–3 high-quality funding proposals or concept notes per quarter, focusing on the thematic intersections of ageing, health, and livelihoods.
  • Maintain and expand a real-time donor database, tracking submission deadlines, shifting thematic priorities, and specific application guidelines.
  • Work closely with the Finance department to build accurate proposal budgets that ensure full cost recovery and strict compliance with donor financial policies.

3. Capacity Building & Grassroots Training

  • Facilitate training for project beneficiaries and community groups on financial literacy, small business management, and modern marketing techniques.
  • Ensure all enterprise and program development activities strictly adhere to gender, disability, and ageing inclusion principles, moving beyond "one-size-fits-all" models.

4. Documentation & Compliance

  • Document success stories and qualitative case studies from livelihood interventions to be used as powerful evidence in fundraising and marketing materials.
  • Ensure all proposal submissions and enterprise activities comply with FAID’s internal administrative procedures, emphasizing transparency and ethical conduct.

Safeguarding Responsibilities

  • Promote and model a safe, respectful working environment, preventing harm and abuse from our people, operations and programs to anyone that encounters our work.
  • Report all safeguarding incidents they see, hear, hear about or suspect, using our internal reporting mechanism.
  • Complying with all safeguarding framework policies and practices. Completing mandatory training courses relating to our safeguarding policy framework and complying with HR vetting procedures.
  • Reducing the risk of harm and abuse in the field.
  • Involving communities in the design of programs and complaint response mechanisms, be responsible for implementation and review.
  • Receiving and responding to complainants/survivors and ensuring that no further harm is done, following a survivor-centered approach.

Required qualifications, experience, and skills

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Development Studies, Economics, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience

Required Skills

  • Strong business planning and financial modeling skills.
  • Excellent English writing skills for proposal and report drafting.
  • Familiarity with the donor landscape in Pakistan (institutional and corporate).
  • Understanding of inclusive programming (ageing/gender/disability) is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint).
