Know our Role / Team

This position will be the overarching food fortification focal point in the country accountable for the success of this intervention and reporting directly to the Deputy Country Director. Specifically, this position will lead the alignment and implementation of good program performance and coordination across all fortification grants, regardless of donor or vehicle. More specifically, s/he will assume responsibility for all technical/implementation aspects of program planning and delivery, including providing strategic and technical guidance and quality assurance to the overall program implementation team and sub-contracted consultants/ agencies on all project activities, in coordination with other National Program Managers.

About you

You are a Postgraduate in Food Technology, medical degree, social sciences and/or related disciplines. At least 8 years’ experience of managerial role for an international NGO or public sector agency working in public health and/or food security programs in Pakistan

Fluency in English & Urdu is required.

About the role

The Senior National Program Manager will be responsible to:

·        Lead and successfully organize the Pakistan LSFF portfolio ensuring excellent coordination of many overlapping grants, expectations, and promises. This includes ensuring staff are well cared for and performing at a high level.

·        Ensure the positive and effective development of project proposals, project reports, and monitoring - including FortIS. And once developed, ensure that they are being implemented well and to agreed promises and expectations. Flag to DCD, and Regional and Global team any risks, or needs for program adaptation if things are off track.

·        Provide support to governments at all levels (federal, provincial, special area and districts) to ensure improved political commitment for legislation, regulations and enforcement related to food fortification.

·        Engagement (through NPMs) with millers and their associations at the provincial and national level to get their support and commitment for quality food fortification (inclusive of salt).

·        Identify and undertake potential research studies in coordination with NI’s MEAL team to strengthen implementation strategies and maximize impact and program efficiency where appropriate. These study findings will be made publicly available and may be disseminated nationally and internationally and by developing relevant publications.

·        Coordinate with other units like procurement & contracting, finance, Ops etc. to ensure smooth progression of NI’s process and procedures related to various procurements as part of implementation of NI’s food fortification programs.
