Job Purpose

The Trainer for the Professional Food & Beverage Services course will be responsible for delivering comprehensive training sessions as per the provided module, ensuring the development of participants skills in food and beverage service under the Donor Prime Minister Youth Program. The role includes designing and implementing course content, conducting assessments, and maintaining accurate training records, all while ensuring the timely and effective delivery of the program in line with Organizaations standards. The trainer will equip students with the skills, knowledge, and competencies required to excel in the hospitality industry, ensuring alignment with the curriculum approved by Donor and the standards of Organization.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions based on the Donor-approved Food & Beverage Services curriculum.
  • Design and adapt course content to meet the needs of participants and industry requirements.
  • Ensure the complete coverage of course content within the allotted training timeframe.
  • Use a variety of training methods, including lectures, practical demonstrations, group discussions, and case studies.
  • Develop and share a comprehensive Training/Study Plan for implementation.
  • Ensure the training content aligns with the approved syllabus and meets industry standards.
  • Manage resources, including training materials, facilities, and equipment, to ensure smooth program delivery.
  • Prepare and facilitate pre-training, post-training, and final evaluation papers.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly assessments as per the lesson plan, course objectives, and practical tasks.
  • Facilitate data entry in the MIS for final evaluations and certificate printing.
  • Maintain and update attendance registers regularly for all classes.
  • Review trainee attendance daily, follow up on absentees, and provide feedback to the Training Officer.
  • Maintain hard and soft copies of relevant training documents, including evaluation sheets and attendance records.
  • Place requisitions for materials and equipment needed for practical sessions.
  • Facilitate and coordinate with Co-Trainers on day-to-day training activities.
  • Provide administrative support, including organizing schedules, exams, and important events/functions.
  • Assist program staff in planning and executing events such as certificate distribution ceremonies, awareness sessions, and job fairs.
  • Facilitate small events, including guest visits and celebrations of special occasions.
  • Attend fortnightly trainer meetings and provide regular updates.
  • Share monthly progress reports detailing training outcomes and challenges.
  • Ensure timely communication of exam schedules, important events, and functions to trainees.
  • Support colleagues and program staff in achieving project objectives.
  • Undertake additional tasks assigned by management to ensure program success.

 

Required Qualifications and Experience

Educational Background: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
  • A diploma or certification in Food & Beverage Services is preferred.

Experience: 

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in the food and beverage or hospitality industry.
  • Previous experience as a trainer or instructor in hospitality related fields is a plus.

Skills: 

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of food and beverage service techniques and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and relevant training software.
  • Ability to organize events and maintain accurate documentation.
