Role/Responsibilities:
Under the guidance and supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Gender and Protection Coordinator will be responsible for the following deliverables;
1. Gender Mainstreaming:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive Gender Equality and Inclusion Strategy (GEIS) that aligns with the program objectives.
• Conduct gender and inclusion analyses to understand how gender relations and equality impact resilience to climate change and humanitarian response.
2. Capacity Building:
• Provide training and support to the staff and partners on gender-responsive approaches.
• Develop tools and guidelines to facilitate the integration of gender considerations into the program activities.
3. Monitoring and Evaluation:
• Monitor the effectiveness of gender integration in program activities and make necessary adjustments.
• Document lessons learned and best practices to improve future interventions
4. Advocacy and Representation:
• Advocate for gender-sensitive approaches in climate resilience and humanitarian initiatives
• Collaborate with stakeholders to promote gender equality and inclusion in the program target areas.
5. Community Engagement:
• Engage with local communities to address gender norms and practices that may hinder resilience and humanitarian efforts
• Promote the participation of women, persons with disabilities, and older people in program activities.
Required Qualification/Experience: Master in Gender Studies/ Social Sciences, 6 years of relevant experience of National & international organizations
