Job Description:

Position Objective and Specific Tasks.

A new vaccination initiative is being launched to enhance immunization services both demand generation and service delivery in remote and underserved communities. This project requires a dedicated Vaccinator responsible for providing immunization services to children and vulnerable populations, particularly in hard-to-reach and remote areas, through a mobile vaccination unit. This role includes administering vaccines, maintaining cold chain protocols, and accurately documenting immunization data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer vaccines to eligible children and vulnerable groups according to immunization schedules.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of vaccines to maintain cold chain integrity.
• Ensure proper record keeping of vaccine stocks.
• Prepare Weekly/Monthly advance tour plan for outreach activities.
• Prepare robust micro plans of assigned area/UC as per standard format and updating on regular basis.
• Conduct outreach activities to maximize immunization coverage in remote and underserved areas.
• Maintain accurate immunization records and report data to relevant health authorities.
• Maintain due, defaulter and ZD children’s data.
• Counselling & educate parents and caregivers on the benefits of vaccination and address any concerns.
• Inform parents on follow up visits with clear dates for revisits.
• Work in coordination with the mobile vaccination team and local health officials.
• Follow infection prevention and safety protocols during immunization activities.
• Report any adverse event AEFI as per guideline/protocol.
• Use of smart phone for digital reporting of immunization.

Educational Requirements and Skills. 

The ideal candidate for this role should have the following qualifications and attributes:

• Required diploma/ certification in Vaccination.
• At least 2 years of relevant field working experience.
• Previous experience in immunization programs is preferred.
• Knowledge of vaccine administration techniques and cold chain management.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in challenging field conditions.
• Fluency in local languages is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Strong problem-solving and adaptability skills.
• Commitment to public health and community service.
