Organization’s Background:

A National Level NGO engaged in advocacy, campaigning, community mobilization, research, networking, challenging anti poor policies, plans and actions at local, national and international level with different coalitions. Since its inception, covered at least 22 districts of Balochistan and has worked to ensure a peaceful and secure environment within communities. The main Goal is to eliminate poverty and violence from society by means of encouraging human rights and civic education culture.

Job Overview/Summary:

The Livelihood Officer is an important position in programs or projects. She/he implements the project / intervention on ground according to set objectives and strategies. He/she ensures the transparency quality services and equitable distribution of project stuff among the beneficiaries. He/she ensures that all key stakeholder and quarter concerns are taken into account for smooth implementation of project and achieving the desire results.

Major Responsibilities:

  • To mobilize and strengthen communities/beneficiaries in institutional framework for addressing the social issues

  • Conducting daily review and daily planning for field activities in the field and presenting his/her field work in weekly reviews and ensuring compliance of the review decision.

  • Developing and maintaining files of the activities (in line with program P&P check list) and other documentation of the intervention.

  • Monitor the field activities to ensure target group applied the decisions/agreed activities practically.

  • Fact finding and reporting the issues of concerns in respective communities for advocacy purpose or creating awareness at large scale and collect the data for baselines, beneficiary surveys, Assessment, researchers and evaluation.

  • Ensuring required logistical support for establishment of sub office/center/camp in field area.

  • Capacity building of the target groups and other stakeholder for achieving project objectives.

  • To develop linkages of target group with relevant line departments, public & private institutions, financial institutions and market for mainstreaming their work and seeking additional services/support.

  • Conducting periodic meetings/reviews with target groups/organizations develop their action plans and taking follow up of action plans status.

  • Conduct Quarterly/Annual Performance Review (QPR and APR) with target groups/organizations for improving and tracking their work and ensuring outcome based results.

  • To organize and facilitate orientation and sanitization sessions on relevant convention(s) and general concepts of social development

  • Identifying, training, strengthening and engaging the Community Resource Person (CRP)/Community Sparks for strengthening and sustaining the process in community

  • Developing referral mechnisiam for identified vulnerable cases/issues to the relevant quarter concern

  • Developing up to the mark profiles/case histories/success stories of CRPS/Community Sparks, Community Members, and Village/CO/VO/LSO/Child Clubs/Work place

  • Facilitating Visitors, respective project Donor (s), Organization’s employees including MER department visits to the respective intervention and seeking formal approval of their entry/visits from the respective competent authorities

  • Collect the data for baselines, beneficiary surveys, Assessments, researchers and evaluations & other assessment studies.

  • As & when need arises additional/supplementary task (s)/assignment (s) may also be performed by the Livelihood Officer in line with Organization’s general Policy.

 

Job Specification:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences, economics, statistics or in any other related subject

  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience preferably in NGO setup.


Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Capacity to develop, implement and analyze project assessments, develop and implement work plans, program/project budgets in excel sheets and financial management.

  • High quality skills in training, monitoring and evaluation of interventions.

  • Strong coordination skills with the ability to manage information (report writing and presentations).

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills in English.

  • Knowledge of MS Office, MS Access, MS Excel, MS Excel

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Familiarity with data collection and knowledge of MEAL tools.

  • Can speak and understand English, Urdu & Pushto


Language Skills:  

  • Fluent, professional level speaking, reading and writing in English and Urdu. At this level, applicant should have:

  • The ability to speak using sufficient, structured and accurate vocabulary in formal conversation;

  • The ability to use the language to satisfy professional needs;

  • The ability to read and write at a normal speed and with almost complete comprehension of a variety of materials, unfamiliar subjects, styles and forms pertinent to the job needs.
