Job Summary

Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan (AKHS, P), runs one of the largest not-for-profit private healthcare systems in the country, with a focus on the regions of Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Sindh. Its core focus includes initiatives for hard-to-reach populations through services like outreach clinics, training of community midwives to provide low-cost health services in remote areas, screening for non-communicable diseases, and digital health solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities:

 

  • Conduct regular consulting in-person clinics and teleconsultations.
  • Gather and maintain patient information and records through a mobile application and HMIS, including social and medical history obtained from patients, relatives, and other professionals.
  • Conduct psychometric testing for diagnosing mental health-related problems.
  • Conduct psychotherapeutic intervention for mental disorders and emotional, behavioral and relationship issues for individuals, families, and groups.
  • Design individualized care plans, using a variety of treatments.
  • Provide psychological support services, assess, and help patients with psychological problems of all types and levels of severity, including:
    1. anxiety, including adjustment disorders, generalized anxiety states, phobias, and panic attacks.
    2. depression, ranging from adjustment disorders to severe clinical depression.
    3. problems with personal relationships, including communication with health and social care    professionals
    4. Psychosexual difficulties (such as erectile dysfunction and loss of libido)
    5. alcohol and drug-related problems
    6. personality disorder
    7. deliberate self-harm.
    8. psychotic illness
    9. organic brain syndromes
  • Consultation, supervision, and staff support
  • Training and Development of community-based health care providers on early identification and referrals.
  • Research activities (if and when required)
