Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan (AKHS, P), a leading not-for-profit healthcare organization, is seeking dynamic and result-oriented professionals for the position of Assistant Manager Supply Chain.
Position Summary:
The Assistant Manager Supply Chain will play a key role in managing the full procurement cycle for medical supplies, equipment, services, and project-related materials across AKHS P operations. The position is responsible for ensuring timely, transparent, and cost-effective sourcing while maintaining compliance with organizational policies, quality standards, and AKU Group Procurement guidelines. The role also includes vendor management, coordination of imports and logistics, and support in procurement for hospital construction and infrastructure projects, contributing to overall operational efficiency and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage end-to-end procurement of medical supplies, capital equipment, services, and project-related materials in compliance with AKHS, P policies and AKU Group Procurement standards.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective, efficient, and transparent sourcing across all operations.
- Manage tendering processes, including RFQs/RFPs, bid evaluation, vendor selection, negotiation, and contract finalization.
- Oversee import and international procurement, ensuring timely logistics, customs clearance, and warehouse delivery.
- Build, evaluate, and maintain an updated vendor database; monitor supplier performance, pricing trends, and compliance.
- Coordinate procurement planning with internal stakeholders including clinical, biomedical, engineering, and regional teams.
- Manage procurement for construction, renovation, and infrastructure projects, including contractor bidding and contract management.
- Ensure accurate procurement documentation, contract records, and audit-ready compliance files.
- Track procurement KPIs, cost variances, and market intelligence to support cost control and decision-making.
- Resolve supply chain issues and coordinate delivery, installation, and logistics with warehouses and end users.
- Ensure timely processing of vendor payments and adherence to contractual and financial controls.
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement systems, ERP utilization, and process efficiency.
Qualification & Experience
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree holder preferably in supply chain, business administration, social science, civil engineering, project management or experience commensurate with the job role.
- 3 years of relevant experience in procurement and supply chain management, preferably in healthcare, development sector, or construction/project procurement.
- Hands-on experience in tendering, vendor management, contract administration, and ERP procurement systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Strong negotiation, analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
- Strong knowledge of procurement compliance, supplier evaluation, and market analysis.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP-based procurement systems.
- High integrity, professionalism, and ethical decision-making.
- Problem-solving mindset with focus on process improvement and efficiency.
