Job Description:
The Provincial Media Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and supporting media fellowship activities at the provincial level. The role will involve engaging with the local fellows and disseminate information related to fellowship announcement etc. The coordinator will closely coordinate fellowship activities with journalists, media houses, and other stakeholders to promote accurate and responsible reporting on gender-based violence (GBV) issues.
Main Responsibilities
Media Fellowship Coordination:
- Oversee and support media fellowship activities in the province.
- Ensure that participating journalists receive relevant information and resources.
- Monitor media content and reporting trends related to GBV.
- Support logistical arrangement and coordination with fellows for the workshop and refresher.
- Support the development of related technical materials, press release and talking points
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Establish and maintain relationships with local journalists, media organizations, and press clubs.
- Coordinate with civil society organizations and advocacy groups to enhance media engagement on GBV issues.
- Facilitate workshops and discussions between journalists and GBV experts.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track and document media coverage related to project activities.
- Provide periodic reports on media engagement and coverage impact.
- Ensure alignment of media activities with project objectives and donor requirements.
- Support reporting of the provincial media fellowship activities
- Responsible for documenting the report of the fellowship
- Support in collecting stories and maintain a repository of stories produced by fellows.
- Master’s /Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in media coordination, journalism, or communications. Experience in GBV-related advocacy or development projects is preferred.
- Ability to monitor and analyze media trends, organize training sessions, and write reports.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of SOP development, case management procedures, and legal protection mechanisms for women
- Any other task assigned by the supervisor
