Introduction

Secours Islamique France (SIF) is a non-governmental international solidarity organization based in France. Established in 1991, SIF is a non-profit and non-political organization dedicated to assisting, relieving, and protecting the lives of those affected by natural disasters, displacement, and poverty. Operating in more than 20 countries worldwide, SIF delivers emergency aid, recovery, and development projects, respecting cultural diversity without any distinction of origin, religion, or gender. Over the past two decades, SIF has been committed to supporting vulnerable populations globally.

Objective

The objective of this consultancy is to train selected community members on how to develop and implement online business ideas and assist them in registering their businesses on appropriate e-commerce platforms (e.g., VCEELA, Daraz, Amazon, etc.) for selling clothing, handicrafts, and other products.

 

Scope of Work

The consultant will be responsible for:

  1. Conducting Training:
    • Design and deliver comprehensive training sessions focused on online business development, marketing strategies, and digital entrepreneurship.
    • Cover topics such as product selection, pricing, branding, online marketing (including social media and SEO), and customer engagement.
    • Introduce participants to various e-commerce platforms, including global (e.g., Amazon, Etsy) and local (e.g., Daraz, OLX, Cheezmall, GharPar, Facebook Marketplace and other) options, depending on the suitability for their products.
  2. Business Idea Development:
    • Help community members refine their business ideas based on market demand, target audience, and available resources.
    • Guide participants on identifying and developing their unique selling propositions in clothing, handicrafts, and other sectors.
  3. Registration on Online Platforms:
    • Assist participants with setting up accounts and registering their businesses on various online platforms.
    • Provide hands-on support for product listing, account setup, pricing strategies, and establishing payment gateways.
    • Ensure that participants are fully registered on at least three e-commerce platforms including VACEELA by the end of the consultancy.
  4. Marketing and Promotion Strategies:
    • Teach participants how to promote their products online through effective use of social media (e.g., Instagram, Facebook) and other digital marketing tools.
    • Guide them in building a brand identity and optimizing product descriptions, images, and reviews.
  5. Post-Training Support:
    • Offer mentorship and troubleshooting support as community members start selling their products online.
    • Provide participants with a toolkit or guide for post-training reference.
  6. Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Track progress of participants through feedback forms, surveys, or interviews.
    • Submit a final report detailing the outcomes of the training, including the number of participants registered on platforms, key challenges, and recommendations for future improvements.

 

Deliverables

    • Training material (presentations, guides, templates) on online business development and e-commerce platforms.
    • Training session reports, including participant attendance and feedback.
    • Business registration documentation for all participants on selected platforms.
    • 50 business accounts created and activated on online marketplaces
    • Final report summarizing the training outcomes, including challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations for future similar projects.
    • Pre- and post-training assessments to measure learning outcomes.

 

Qualifications and Experience

The consultant must possess the following qualifications:

    • Proven experience in e-commerce, online business development, or digital marketing.
    • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Demonstrated expertise in working with local communities, particularly in the sectors of clothing and handicrafts.
    • Experience with training or capacity-building initiatives, especially in online entrepreneurship.
    • Knowledge of local and international e-commerce platforms.
    • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
    • Ability to work within a short timeframe and deliver measurable outcomes.

Payment Terms

Payment will be made in three installments with

First: 25% after the submission of Technical and Financial Proposal.

Second: 25% will be made during the Trainings.

Third: 50% payment will be made upon completion of the assignment and submission of the agreed deliverables to SIF.

 

The final completion report will be submitted by the Consultant upon satisfactory completion of the work.
